Supplied Information: http://www.science.uts.edu.au/~jswann/pps2/snakes_alive.top.html By following these pages the reader will investigate five snake venom PLA-2 enzymes that have been subjected to X-ray crystallographic analysis and have coordinate files lodged with the Brookhaven Protein Data Bank (PDB). These five PLA-2 sequences are derived from venoms of 3 viperid/crotalid snakes of the Americas. Sequence similarities and differences are examined using selected database and alignment tools and the 3-dimensional structures may be visualised using the Rasmol molecular viewer program to see the extent to which sequence information is mirrored in secondary and tertiary structural features.
Possible Use: This product is suitable for Tertiary courses.
