- 1 x 800 + mm 5/16 inch threaded steel rod + 5 nuts + 5 washers
- 1 x 50 mm ¼ inch bolt (thread for whole length of bolt) + 3 nuts + 3 washers
- 1 x 40 - 50 mm ½ bolt + 1 nut + 1 washer
- 1 x 3/8 inch washer (to drill hole in) OR ½ inch washer (might not need drilling)
- 1 metre 1 mm - 2 mm diameter steel wire
- 2 x bulldog clips
- 1 x 2 kg mass (any mass about 2 kg that hangs evenly from bar will do)
- 1 x 2 cm x 1 cm thin aluminium sheet to block light beam
- 1 x 5 cm square aluminium sheet or rigid plastic for paddle
- 2 x small bolts to hold aluminium or plastic to bulldog clips
- (+ 6 mm drill bit and 12 mm drill bit so bolts screw through timber)
