The Bush Telegraph is a magazine about forestry, wildlife and environmental matters published by State Forests of NSW four times a year. For Stages 4 & 5, there are articles on the research being carried out within the forests of NSW.

Onwood is the publication from Forestry and Forest Products, CSIRO, which covers recent research being carried out by Forestry and Forest Products.

Land for Wildlife Notes series
This series of notes from Land for Wildlife covers a range of topics such as An introduction to the soil and litter layers and Fire as a wildlife habitat management tool. Download in pdf.

Teaching and Learning Resources
From Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Queensland, the Junior Secondary Modules include Pest Management, Sustainable Agriculture and Biodiversity. Also includes a range of fact sheets on topics such as rainforests, soils, salinity management, animal pests and plant pests.

Wild Forest Adventure - from State Forests of NSW
Wild Forest Adventures is an online resource and includes three separate activities (with others planned). These adventures are interactive comic style presentations which relate to issues such as introduced species (Ferals), biodiversity (Poo) and using forest products (Woodwork). Each adventure is supported with aims, objectives, skills and general syllabus references. Most suited to Stages 2 & 3. A free colouring book to support the activities is available on request.

The Bush Telegraph Archives - from State Forests of NSW
The Bush Telegraph is a magazine about forestry, wildlife and environmental matters published by State Forests of NSW four times a year. Archives of the magazine contain a Forest School section and are available online.
For K-6 students, each issue contains an Activity Sheet which can be downloaded in pdf format. Themes include: Snakes, spiders and leeches; Ready, set...wildfires!; and Biodiversity.

Logs Have Life Inside - House on Fire - from Environment Australia
This web site encourages students to consider the impact of using dead wood for firewood and provides a number of activities and resources to support the investigation. Suitable for Grades 3 - 6.
